Horta Airport (HOR)
Airlines, Terminals and Facilities

(Horta, Faial Island, Azores Autonomous Region)

The small, single-terminal Horta Airport lies 10 km / 6 miles from Horta city, on the southeast coast of Faial Island. Considered as the central air hub of the Azores Islands, the two storey terminal serves more than 200,000 passengers per year through two gates and six check-in desks.

Regular scheduled flights connect with a number of destinations throughout the Azores as well as two daily flights to Lisbon. The airport is set in the scenic surroundings of Horta and offers grand views of the foliage of the mountains on nearby Pico Island.

A small terminal, Horta Airport is limited in its facilities to left luggage, postal services and cash machines as well as baby-changing stations. Retail stores offer tobacco, periodicals, alcohol, fashion and cosmetics, while the Peter café has two locations offering snacks.

A VIP room is available for business and first-class passengers and formal functions. Horta Airport is also constructed to accommodate disabled passengers and personalised service can be arranged through the passenger's airline.

Information counters are located in the public section of the Departures area.

The principal airlines based here are both TAP Portugal and SATA Air Acores, which between them serve destinations such as:
  • Corvo Island
  • Flores Island
  • Lisbon
  • Ponta Delgada
  • Terceira
